Freediving Training Resources
Practical CO₂ tables, dry apnea routines and breath-hold training resources for Apnea Fuerteventura students.
This training hub is designed to help beginner and advanced freedivers improve relaxation, breath-hold confidence, CO₂ tolerance and mental control through structured dry apnea training.
These resources are especially useful for students preparing for static apnea, dynamic apnea, PADI Freediver courses, Advanced Freediver progression and ocean confidence training in South Fuerteventura.
It is highly recommended not to choose or practise a CO₂ table completely on your own.

CO₂ Tables for Freediving Training
CO₂ tables are one of the most common dry training tools in freediving. They are designed to help you become more comfortable with rising carbon dioxide levels during a breath-hold.
The goal is not to suffer.
The goal is to stay relaxed, calm and aware while your body starts asking for air.
Used correctly, CO₂ tables can help improve:
- breath-hold confidence
- relaxation during contractions
- static apnea control
- mental calmness
- tolerance to CO₂
- consistency in dry apnea training
These tables should always be practised dry, never in water alone.
Beginner Freediver CO₂ Tables
These tables are recommended for beginner freedivers, PADI Freediver students and people building basic static apnea confidence.
Start with a table that feels comfortable. Do not jump too quickly to a harder level.

At this level, relaxation becomes even more important.
Do not force the table. Stay calm, breathe normally during recovery and focus on control.

How to Choose the Right CO₂ Table
Choose the table that feels challenging but controlled.
If you finish completely exhausted, dizzy or stressed, the table is too hard for you right now.
A good CO₂ table should feel:
- controlled
- uncomfortable but manageable
- mentally challenging
- safe
- repeatable
For most students, progression works better when it is slow and consistent.
A beginner should usually start with the 1:00 or 1:15 table before moving towards 1:30, 1:45 and 2:00.
Advanced students can progress towards 2:15 and 2:30 only when they already feel comfortable with dry static apnea training.
Safety Rules for CO₂ Tables
Never practise breath-holding in water alone.
These tables are for dry training only.
Stop immediately if you feel dizzy, unwell, confused, uncomfortable or unsafe.
Do not train breath-hold exercises while driving, standing, walking, bathing, swimming or alone in water.
Freediving training should always be approached with patience, safety and respect for your body.
